I love a well ordered kitchen. There is no cozier place in the home, and creativity abounds when the kitchen is organized and easy to work in. I like knowing exactly where my recipes are, having my conversation charts handy, and being set up well with my inventory up to date.

Years ago, my kitchen was chaotic. And in that kitchen, we had boring meals and blasé snacks. In my well ordered kitchen, however, we are inspired. We create delights like Candied Pecans, the best (in my humble opinion) BBQ sauce ever, and the most amazing healthy chicken fingers you’ve ever had. Organization is the first step in inspiration when it comes to the kitchen. Being pretty, doesn’t hurt either. I love a pretty kitchen, too.
That’s why this awesome new kitchen tool from Caroline Allen of The Modest Mom is so fabulous!
Why You Need A Well Ordered Kitchen
So why do you need a well ordered kitchen? Great question! Seriously, I’m so glad you asked.
We all love to save our pennies, don’t we? Sometimes that can be hard, especially when it comes to grocery shopping. However, when you can start your shopping right in your own pantry and cabinets, you can save a lot of money. After you look through your inventory, then you create your master shopping list…check it out below (so cool!).
And menu planning saves a ton; you don’t buy things you don’t need and you have everything you will need on hand to avoid a last minute trip to the market. I have talked a lot about it in the past, and I’ll keep sharing — because it’s a fabulous way to be a good steward over your finances!
Peace of Mind
Another reason for having a well ordered kitchen is the peace of mind it brings. There’s no rushing about, trying to figure out what meal you can toss together And no looking through your Pinterest board trying to find that recipe you pinned (somewhere) that you think might work for tonight.
I have a binder with recipes printed out, indexed, and ready to grab. I did buy a nice binder and page protectors, because again, I love a simply lovely and easily well ordered kitchen. I’ve printed meal plan sheets, recipe sheets, kitchen helper sheets, and more to keep in my binder. My older kids who help cook love this simple system we’re now using, and so do I. Everything is easy to find at meal time, and right there!
Tip: Save your meal plans and jot down the recipe sheet page # next to each meal you plan. Rotate your meal plans back into schedule. I have 4 weeks planned out for each season, and I use them each 3x. We never get sick of our meals, and I don’t have to constantly re-invent the wheel this way. The exception is if we have extra food in the pantry to use up or if someone gives us garden produce. But this is our basic system.

Do *not* miss out on this awesome product!

Tip: I’m using this as a part of our home ec course for homeschooling next year. My daughter is thrilled to have her binder, and asking me to start using it now. I love seeing her this excited!
