Have you ever asked yourself the question “Why can we trust God?”
What inspired a man like Abraham to leave behind everything he had ever known to follow a God he couldn’t see and had never met?
What inspired David to trust Him in the face of a giant?
What prompted Peter and James and John to leave the security of their nets for persecution and an unknown future?
And today, what is it in your heart that has you seeking God and desiring to trust Him?
Why can we trust God?
Because God is trustworthy.
He is the Promise Keeper. What He says is true. He always does what He says He will do. God is not a liar, my friend. Never forget this.
To know this, however, you must first look at God’s character. Read the Bible and see how He keeps His Word.
And remember, you can also see His prophecies fulfilled throughout history as well.
His Word created the earth and everything in it. His Word holds the planets in place. And it is by His Word that is unfailing in spite of our unfaithfulness.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
Psalm 33:11, ESV
the plans of his heart to all generations.
His plans are eternal. They are not whimsical or temporal like ours. He sees the end from the beginning.
Sometimes we find ourselves in seasons of waiting. We trust and we hope. Then maybe we get tired and frustrated. And then we choose.
Do we trust or do we take matters into our own hands? The Bible clearly tells us that God is trustworthy; His Word holds true and we can trust everything He does.
Why can we trust God? Because the Bible tells us He will do what He said He will do. Because He is God. It’s a leap of faith, but not a big one.

How can we trust God?
Trusting in God means depending on Him, it means obeying Him, and it means believing Him.
Trusting God is both something you can’t see and something you can; it begins in your mind and heart and then is manifested in your actions.
